Why You Need Emergency Antibiotics Before Disaster Strikes (Again)

Why You Need Emergency Antibiotics Before Disaster Strikes (Again)

Preppers used to be thought of as people who only worried about the end of the world. And while this may be true for some preppers, there is a growing community of people who are focused on being prepared for every kind of emergency, both big and small. And if the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that one of the most important things to be prepared for is emergency antibiotics – also known as preppers antibiotics.

You can find tons of information out there in the online world, but we’ve done the research for you. And we’ve learned that Jase Medical specializes in emergency preparedness antibiotics that can help you in any situation.

Why You Need Emergency Antibiotics

Just in case you’ve never even heard of emergency antibiotics, they are antibiotics that you take for a serious infection that you’ve stored in case of an emergency or serious situation. They’re also called preppers antibiotics. This is because prepping for any kind of emergency is essential and includes having antibiotics on hand just in case you need them.

Emergency antibiotics are essential for a number of reasons, but mostly because they can help you get through a serious infection that might otherwise kill you. Not only that, but they can also help you avoid getting a serious infection in the first place. And, perhaps most significantly, they can help you protect your loved ones from getting a serious infection or to really stand a chance of fighting one off.

What Happened and Could Happen Again

Since you’re no stranger to a world on lock down from your most essential items – including antibiotics and medications – then you’re well aware of how frightening it can be when access to life-saving antibiotics becomes inaccessible virtually overnight. Suddenly, people had to scramble to find a way to get their hands on the medications they needed to protect themselves and their families.

It was a sudden awakening many people didn’t know how to handle.

But think about this. What if, heaven forbid, another worldwide pandemic occurs? Or the current one diverts to more radical effects in its wake? How do you think the economy will be affected – again? Since you’ve experienced such a situation along with the rest of the world once already, you now know what to expect come such a time.

Now you know it makes sense to prepare for such a disastrous time – by storing water, candles, and food. Hopefully, even money. Even saving money for travel could be up there on your priority list. And certainly, emergency antibiotics. You won’t know the state of the economies.  But if they are anything like every other worldly disaster, then it’s safe to assume your essentials will be barred from you to access.

  1. It a very good article specially in world full of uncertainties.
I usually go high in Himalayas and lately my little kid has always been with us. For me we have to take a lot of precaution’s and be always handy with emergency kid and some more.

  2. While I definitely think having emergency antibiotics on hand can bring peace of mind and are a useful thing to have access to, I think it’s important to note that they’re worthless against a viral pandemic.

  3. As a medical professional and a microbiologist, putting antibiotics in the hands of laypeople can be dangerous for many reasons. Antibiotics are so overused which contributes to superinfections of “bad bacteria”. It is also very difficult for most people to know if they have a bacterial infection or a viral one and which antibiotic is appropriate to treat it. If at all possible, I recommend traveling with good trip insurance and seeing a doctor to make sure you are using the right antibiotics and aren’t sicker than you realize.

  4. I hate meds but having kids around, we have a refrigerator full of meds just in case they get sick, because of this I am learning to take medicine every time I feel like something is wrong, especially when I have a flu or cough.

    1. I am sure with kids things definitely become different as they often pick up all kinds of bugs or get hurt in ways that could become infected.

  5. This is certainly an interesting read, however, I don’t believe in self medication – especially not when it comes to antibiotics. I think this anti drug thing is very European. Maybe it’s because we have a different health care system where we can consult a doctor for free any time we want or need to. I hardly ever have any kind of drugs at home – even not headache pills 😉

    1. I dont think it is too different here in the states either. For example, I rarely take meds as my mom was in the medical field and always preferred that I fought off disease naturally whenever possible. But as a outdoors backpacker, when you are on a 10 day trek in the woods with no access to telemed conferences, medicines, or even a hospital, I do find it better to have a well prepared first aid kit to mitigate any issues until further, professional help can be obtained.

  6. This is such a thought provoking post! I would have not thought of having emergency antibiotics on hand, but you’ve definitely motivated me to be proactive and get some to have.

  7. This pandemic definitely made me realize the importance of antibiotics. And I am bookmarking your post for reference just in case of need.

    1. We agree, Antibiotics are key to staying safe in case of emergency & you can never be too prepared whether you are traveling or just for your at home First Aid kit.

  8. I have to admit that we now travel with antibiotics. They have saved us from ruining a vacation more than one time. We went to a local travel clinic and were able to get them to take with us. Although we did not have the range of antibiotics on your list.

  9. This is really interesting and I never thought about how important Antibiotics are. I have to check it out as this service can’t be international. Japan has really strict laws about importing anything related to medicines or health.

    1. Interesting, I am sure it is always wise to check any rules & laws regarding a country’s regulations before travel. But I wonder how restrictive Japan is to Prescription meds rather than random over the counter stuff.

  10. But antibiotics are gor bacterial infections, right. And the pandemics are usually viral?

    1. I understand we have to be prepped for traveling but to complete our preparations, we must also have antiviral stuff.

  11. I am not into taking antibiotics unless it’s absolutely necessary (probably because I had a lot of health issues after exessive use of antibiotics during my childhood because my mother gave me all the time, even if there was the slightest chance I might get sick for example after a long walk during the winter) but it does have benefits and can save a lot of effort and even lives. definitely a must in med kit of camping and such

    1. Of course with all medicines you always have to be careful, consult a doctor, and consider all options out there. Personally, we agree if you can manage your health through diet, exercise, and natural methods then that would be great too!

  12. This is a necessary and very informative article. During the trip, we often underestimate the issues of possible diseases or random events. It’s always good to pack a first aid kit with essential medications. We also should pack antibiotics, especially when we plan to travel to places where medical care is difficult to access or very expensive. It’s great that you provide what Emergency Antibiotic Kit should include.

    1. We agree Agnes. Cant tell you how many times we hear about people needing first aid on a trip & having the essential meds really helped them out.

  13. Great tips and I will keep this in mind. It does feel safe to be “prepared” as we always don’t know when we will need it.

  14. Thanks for this informative advise sharing here. Before reading this , it never cross my mind to grab this emergency travel antibiotics. Now I will include in my backpacking preparation list. Cheers Siennylovesdrawing

    1. Agreed Sienny! Nothing worse than having a less than prepared first aid kit while camping or backpacking and then suddenly really needing something like antibiotics for an infection.

  15. Whenever I travel I buy medicines for fever, headache, acidity, etc before leaving, I was not aware that emergency travel antibiotics existed. This looks really helpful on the go.

    1. Sounds like you have a great first aid kit list Moni! I would definitely consider adding some antibiotics to your list for your travel kit especially if you are doing a lot of outdoors fun activities.

  16. I really never knew that emergency travel antibiotics existed. What a wonderful idea for those who travel often!

    1. Agreed Jennifer, they are great not just for travelers but even if you are dealing with seasonal challenges at home. Like for example here in New Orleans, we often create Hurricane Kits more as a “just in Case” & having a first aid kit with meds like Jase Medical’s Antibiotic Kits are really beneficial there too!

  17. very informative article. My family doesn’t usually get sick, so this isn’t something I would normally think of. It would be scary to need medical care and not be able to receive it. Thanks for the tips.

    1. Of course Donna. Yeah, though Darcee suffers from Allergies, I (Eric) rarely get sick & especially never when traveling. Knock on Wood!!!! But I guess that is why Prepper Antibiotics are important cause you never know when or if you will need them right? I mean every time I go backpacking or rock climbing we always bring a first aid kit with the hopes of never needing bandages, medicines, or Emergency Antibiotics!!
