Privacy Policy of the Bucket List Project

Your privacy is very important to us. Here at the Bucket List Project, we have a few fundamental principles that we follow:

  • We don’t ask you for personal information unless we truly need it. (We can’t stand services that ask you for things like your gender or income level for no apparent reason.)
  • We don’t share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our products, or protect our rights.
  • We don’t store personal information on our servers unless required for the on-going operation of our site.

Who we are

The Bucket List Project operates the website address: https://www.EricGamble.com. Our policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating this website.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Newsletters

If you are a registered user of the Bucket List Project website and have supplied your email address, The Bucket List Project may occasionally send you an email or newsletter to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with The Bucket List Project and our products. We primarily use The Bucket List Project’s website to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies

Cookies are small data files stored on your browser by the website. If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. links, videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

The Bucket List Project website uses Google Analytics, as a web analytics service offered by Google to track and report website traffic. Their service tracks website usage and provides information such as referring websites and user actions on the Bucket List Project’s website. Google Analytics may capture your IP address, but no other personal information is captured by Google Analytics.

Advertising

The Bucket List Project website may contain content and advertisements from other advertising partners. These third party advertising companies may use cookies. That information collected in their cookies allows them to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements. With that said, the Privacy Policy of The Bucket List Project seen here only covers the use of cookies on our website and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

Affiliates

The Bucket List Project does engage in affiliate marketing. When we share an affiliate product, service, or company, the link we share is embedded with tracking from The Bucket List Project to the affiliate website. If you click on an affiliate link, a cookie will be placed on your browser to track any sales for purposes of commissions.

We also participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and links to Amazon.com.  As part of this Amazon Associates program, the Website will post customized links, provided by Amazon, to track the referrals to their website. This program utilizes cookies to track visits for the purposes of assigning commission on these sales.

If you have questions about any affiliations on The Bucket List Project website or other content we have shared, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have voluntarily provided us your data on a contact form or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we edit or erase any personal data we hold about you.

  • To Edit or Update your data: You may contact us at eric@ericgamble.com to amend or update your personal information.
