We moved to Alaska last year. And I should say this is my first time driving in winter. I don't have experience nor the knowledge since I have been living in the Far East Asia all my life. One day on my way to drop off my son to his school, we had a black ice accident. This is Alaska, so it was still dark at 7:30am. And I was not even speeding. It was a traumatic experience since I have my 2 kids with me (Thank God for carseats and a sturdy suv!). I was able to avoid not to hit other cars. I steered my suv to the side, and it flipped over. It took weeks for me to even see or go to our garage, or even go to the car. My husband had to take my son to school. At that time I had no choice but to overcome it because my son needs to go to school. Even my son is nervous whenever I am the one driving. We had planned to travel during spring break, but the pandemic happened. Now, winter is coming and I am having jitters. Praying everything will be ok.
