I have to admit I’ve never had much luck with Air B and B, but I do love booking.com! We’ve managed to acquire a lot of genius points which means we now get discounts on all our bookings (plus I love the cancellation policy, it’s great to have so much flexibility when we travel!).

I second the tip about looking outside of your desired location. When I went to London and Lisbon, I stayed just a short train ride (5-10 minutes) from the city center and saved a ton a money.
