I love camping in my tent. I love how I can just pull up to a campground and set-up. Plus most of the time I don’t have to make a reservation.

Great breakdown of different types of accommodations! We love camping, but don’t do it enough internationally–I guess it’s so much easier to do when we are on road trips so we usually avoid it if we fly. Hotels and cabins are always nice to have a bit of privacy and sometime luxury, but we love AirBNBs too!

I guess it differs from country to country. Also, it depends on the nature of the traveller. Hostels are a boon for backpackers. They save money and you can meet new people. But families can’t stay in hostels. I personally prefer homestays with local families, wherever available. That offers the best local experience.

Yes Accommodation is indeed one of the most important components of travel.We are generally very particular about where we stay. Most of the times we stay in hotels which are pre-booked. We also do a lot of research so that we get the best deals and value for money.

Camping and AirBNBs are my favorite travel options. I love that you can stay in a home and cook. I think it saves a tremendous amount of money. Cant say I ever stayed in a hostel. Maybe one day

I love camping when I travel on my long distance cycling trips for several reasons. It is part of the adventure (naturally), brings you close to nature, and also means you can travel further for longer. Adding in Couchsurfing to the list is something I might suggest – it’s not just a great form of accommodation in cities, but it also helps you get to know the locals.

Cottages and self contained apartments at hotels are where I look first when going on holidays. Airbnb has opened up a world of options too. At the start of this year I spent a week driving from Canberra, Australia to the Whitsundays. We stayed in a cottage, at someones house, a barn, a tent and a caravan. It was incredible to experience so much. Helped having access to the locals who would point us in the right direction of a good feed, markets or beer stops.

A nice low down on the staying options while traveling. I too check out sites like Hotels.com and hostelsworld along with the regular hotel websites. Hostels sometimes are better and cheaper than most hotels!

I feel like I’ve tried everything, with the exception of a hostel and sleeping on a boat. But last week, I stayed at a B & B on a goat farm! There’s so much out there, and it’s nice to have a variety, isn’t it?

I am most definitely a camping by RV person, but now may consider glamping as an option!
