The one that surprised me is that if your passport expires within six months, many countries will not allow you to use it. Make sure your passport has lots of time left on it!

I think my biggest mistake so far has been underestimating the cost of my trips! It’s easy to forget about that airport to hotel transportation fee and other small things you don’t always think about.

This is a great list….I actually don’t make these travel mistakes, probably because I travel pretty regularly. I can’t understand people who don’t take out travel insurance even if they are traveling for a short period of time. It’s never money wasted!

Your list of travel mistakes really sums it up! As someone who travels a lot for work, I’ve seen way too many people not properly thinking through the way they pack. It’s important to think through not only the adapters, but the voltage used in different countries so you don’t bring along a ton of stuff you can’t actually plug in. If I know I’ll be shopping a lot, I try to pack one bag inside of a larger one, so I can just separate them once the one inside is full or at the weight capacity.

Great list of travel mistakes!! Luckily, we’ve never had one of our trips turn into a nightmare but I like to think I’m a pretty prepared person, haha. I always withdraw from an ATM once I get there (I exchange a little bit before going to the airport to pay for taxis, etc) and I never travel without insurance!
