2018 BUCKET LIST HOPES AND GOALS

2018 BUCKET LIST HOPES AND GOALS

At the end of each December, I often sit down with my Bucket List notebook and ponder what I want to accomplish and where I want to go for the coming year. For me, I find that writing out a time line not only helps me plan what I want to do but gets me excited about what the coming year has to offer. If you would like to see what we did in 2017, check our 2017 Completed Items.

So how do I choose what do do?

When it comes to inspiration for adding items to my bucket list, there is no doubt that movies inspire me. I love watching movies! They allow me to enter new worlds, explore amazing adventures, and learn about different cultures from around the world. So for my 2018 Bucket List Hopes and Goals, the Bucket List Project is going to the movies, so to speak.

Below I have listed what my 2018 Bucket List Hopes and Goals are and for fun I have added some fun movies we found on Fandango that have helped inspire me. Feel free to click on the movies below and see why these movies may have inspired me!

  1. So much fun! I think you will have a most excellent year 😉 I was an actor in the past, so many of these were bucket list for me too!

  2. Frankly, i have never arranged my trips like that. Maybe because I am not a movie buff. But your list is just fabulous. I hope you really achieve your 20-18 goals.

  3. I love how you have connected your bucket list goals for the year to movies. So creative (and organized). We’re actually headed to Morocco in a couple days and we’ll be in Chefchaoueh around the end of the month – we can’t wait to see ‘The Blue City’. I went to school in New Orleans so I love reading all of your Louisiana bucket list goals – some people get so caught up on travelling that they forget about all the cool things to do in their own backyard. Good luck with all of your 2018 goals and safe travels!

  4. What an awesome list to tick off! I see you have a lot to do with your home state on here – I too really want to spend more time exploring my home city of London, so I’m adding this to my bucket list in spirit!

  5. I love having your 2018 goals inspired by movies. I love how much exploring your home state is on the list! Louisiana is a place I’d love to explore more of. I’ve really only been to New Orleans, so I can’t wait to see all those amazing places you find!

  6. I’ve never been organized enough to plan out my year like this, but it’s a great idea! I hope you accomplish your silver screen dreams! 🙂

  7. I love the April and August goals… maybe because I love those movies. Cartagena also reminds me of Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It must be a great travelogue… when you eventually do it. Hope you fulfil all your goals.

  8. Such an interesting and unique bucket list 🙂 I don’t usually put down my goals for the year on paper but maybe I should! I think its a great idea, and divide them into monthly goals, makes it so much easier to work towards them.

  9. You are so organised with your goals! I like that it is a mix of travel and other things to do. And love the movie theme. I have not made my own bucket list yet for this year.

  10. This is a great idea, I’ve wanted to go to tons of places as a result of stuff I’ve seen in the movies so this totally makes sense.

  11. I’m never one to really plan lists like this (which is weird because I love making lists!) – I tend to pick places that I’d like to go as the year goes on. Currently, I have no idea where I’ll end up beyond January and February. I’ll see what opportunities come up! Your bucket list looks like a wonderful 2018 and I hope you achieve your dreams!

  12. The new year is upon us and everyone is making a bucket list, that’s great to know there are so many inspirations and I see some good items, good luck and have a good year!

  13. What a fun idea! I wish I had been doing this all along. We like to set goals too but only sometimes publicly announce them. I bet by doing it online we will hold ourselves more accountable. Sounds like you have a great year planned ahead.

    1. No choice thanks bacon, yeah it definitely holds this accountable. People usually ask us how it’s coming along and if we fail to plan or drop the ball it kind of makes us feel little bit foolish so it keeps us in check

  14. Thanks to you my bucket list just got longer!! I’d love to go to a drive in movie one day but I don’t think they do them over here in the UK! Maybe one for us to do when we come visit? 🙂 You’ll love the Walk in the Woods movie, it’s hiarious! Haha to #5 😉

  15. We went to Cartagena last year and even though we didn’t manage time to see most of the famous sites, all I could think about while we were there was Romancing the Stone. You’re going to have a lot of fun there. And good on you for making simple, small tasks throughout the year.

  16. Movies also inspire me to visit places! Casablanca is one of my fave movies and so I’ve wanted to go to Casablanca for the longest time! I’ve been to North Morocco but wasn’t able to go visit. It’s still on my bucket list though. I did visit the Grimm brothers’ hometown and walked the Fairy Tale Road in Germany!

    1. That is totally awesome that you visited the hometown of the Three Brothers Grimm. What a great adventure that was I’m very excited about Morocco as well

  17. I love that you prioritize exploring in your own state of Louisiana. I live in California and there’s so much to see. People sometimes ask why I’m traveling to Europe. I like a mix of near and far, as you do! Your list is inspiring!

    1. Yeah I agree sometimes we forget to check our own backyard, when I lived in San Diego, I used to love to drive the PCH and explore all of SoCal if I could on a weekend. So much to see and do there

  18. What an interesting way of creating a bucket list! I never thought of doing it in this way, but it totally makes sense to me. I should try it with the beautiful places I see in movies.

  19. Love the 2018 Bucket List. I have done a few of these myself such as Eat a Zwolle Tamale and eat Meat Pies at Lasyone’s in Natchitoches. Maybe that’s why the 6 pack thing won’t happen for me.

    1. Yeah not going to lie living in Louisiana definitely doesn’t make it easy! All that great food even in Northern Louisiana! Oh well I’ll have to figure it out cuz I’m not giving up on all these good things to eat

  20. I love this list! My husband is also on the quest to get a six-pack. He is not that far away from that. I am seeing that you want to visit the Yucatan Peninsula. It is a wonderful place. You are going to have a good time there. I am making plans for Croatia and other Balkan countries this year. Hope the plans become a reality!

  21. I love your 2018 Bucket List! I am concerned that Grandmom’s pizza pie won’t help with your six pack though. 🙂
We are considering a trip to Morocco this Fall, so I look forward to following your adventure!

  22. I love making yearly goals because they help so much to stay on track of what we wanna accomplish. Good luck to you!

  23. I know of at least two drive-in theaters near Charlotte, so if visiting the Queen City is also on your list, then you could kill two birds with one stone 😉

Most of your list sounds amazing, but I will not be adding the ant larvae to mine anytime soon…

  24. I really liked how you used movies to inspired your bucket list. It sounds like you have planned out an exciting year!

  25. It’s a great list. We do some goal setting in conjunction with our annual review, but this reminds me more of the “35 things I’m doing while 35” list I’ve recently started! It really helps to break it down by month, like you did.

  26. I love this list! In Detroit we have a few drive-in theaters left! If you come up here in the Spring I’ll take you to one!

  27. I love how you’ve chosen movies to accomplish things on your bucket, such a fun idea. It’s actually gave me a little idea (promise I won’t steal your idea but similar) Amazing that you want to be appear in a movie, TV show and in a commercial – If any of those happen please send me a link 😀 – I hope you get to accomplish all on your list.

#156 Chefchaoueh – I didn’t get to visit this place, but my friends are there right now and they have fallen in love with it 😀

#155 Ride a Camel in the Sahara Desert – When you plan to go to Morocco and especially into the Sahara, do some good research into tour companies, as some people I met had some terrible experiences, and nightmare camel rides – I was quite fortunate my trip was smooth, my trip into the Sahara blew my expectations out of the sand ( :P) and my camel ride so was smooth.

  28. Wow, looks like you’re going to be an actor! I’m excited to follow your journey. Best of luck to you! Also, Ratatouille is also one of my favorites 🙂

  29. That’s brilliant. Pretty much all classics and nice to see where your bucket list may guide you 😉

  30. I have to say, I’m not much of a movie watcher. (I do enjoy movies, but I hardly find the time for them!) However, I am excited to see Casablanca on your list, as that may be my all-time favorite movie! Hope you enjoy it! Also, I love the idea of creating a list of things to accomplish for the year. Writing goals down really is a big help towards actualizing them!

  31. Hahaha.. this is such a nice bucket list 🙂 I don’t have a bucket list with things to do, but with places to travel…and it keeps getting bigger and bigger, no many how many destinations I tick off it… I hope you will complete your 2018 bucket list, as planned 🙂

  32. Items 1, 2 and possibly 3 on your bucket list seem like they should be on this year’s calender!
